Pierre Gasly and his girlfriend, Kika Gomes, visited the Cannes Film Festival prior to this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix. While Gasly and Gomes both wore exquisite clothing, the $80,000 watch that Gasly promoted for Alpine's sponsor, Moser, attracted a lot of attention.
Chad Alexander claims that the Alpine driver was sporting a rose-gold Moser watch, made in Geneva. The watch, called the Endeavor Tourbillon Concept, costs $82,000 and has a black vanta dial. One of the oldest Swiss watch companies, Moser, has been making timepieces since 1828. Starting in the 2024 season, the company will sponsor Alpine. Bell & Ross was the watch company that supported Alpine before Moser.
Following the festival, Gasly went back to the Monaco racetrack. With the tenth-quickest lap time of the season, he secured his best qualifying position. With this impressive qualifying effort, the 28-year-old wants to collect his first points of the 2024 campaign.
With just one point earned in the first seven races of the 2024 season, Alpine has had a difficult start. Thanks to his tenth-place finish in Miami, Esteban Ocon earned this point. Nonetheless, given the difficulties of passing on the streets of the principality, the team has a good chance to win additional points this weekend, with Ocon and Gasly qualifying 11th and 10th, respectively, in Monaco.
Gasly expressed satisfaction with his qualifying result, considering his difficulties in 2024. Gasly now has a great opportunity to have a big influence and help the Alpine team and himself turn the season around after being routinely surpassed by Ocon.
